Meet the RCIA Candidates

This year St. Monica’s is proud to have three RCIA candidates who are preparing for Full Communion with the Catholic Church. This means that all three candidates have been baptized already (in different Christian traditions) but will be receiving their First Communion and Confirmation at the Easter Vigil (Carrie Eck will be Confirmed in May alongside her daughter).  Please pray for our candidates in these upcoming weeks and please make a point to welcome them to our community.

MEET OUR CANDIDATES: Ann Keiper, Jake Leech and Carrie Eck!

Ann Keiper is married to Jamie Keiper and they have three children, Cullen (13), Maggie (10) and Molly (8). Ann enjoys reading, traveling, cooking, and doing triathlons. Fun fact: Ann’s favorite dessert is Apple Crisp with Ice Cream.

Here is what Ann has to say about joining the Catholic Church:

“I've decided to join the Catholic Church for family unity.  My husband was raised Catholic, and we are raising our children Catholic. I was raised Lutheran, but have been attending Catholic Mass with my family for years now. I have embraced many of the Catholic beliefs and wish to learn more, become closer to God, and become stronger in my faith as I go through the process.”

Jake Leach is getting married June 16, 2012 to Erica James. Jake enjoys cooking, photography, football, Brewers games. Fun Fact: Jake’s favorite foods are Nachos, Tacos and Burgers.

Here is what Jake has to say about enjoying our community:

“I am looking forward to joining the church to become part of the catholic community and to grow spiritually and to create a strong religious foundation for myself and my family.”

Carrie Eck has been married to Tom for 18 years and they have four children. Carrie enjoys volunteering as a reading resource teacher's assistant at SMS. She also loves cooking and eating, especially tiramisu custard at Kopps.

Here is what Carrie had to say about becoming Catholic:

“I am looking forward to “becoming ‘officially’ Catholic and to keep growing in my faith and truly claim it as my own.”

RCIA is a wonderful way for parishioners to encounter Christ and serve the Church. We are in great need of sponsors and leaders to facilitate prayer services. If you are interested in serving in this great ministry, please contact Colleen Hutt at chutt@st-monica.org or huttc@archmil.org.
