Vigil

Feast of the Immaculate Conception- No guest speaker, Holy Hour after Mass

St. Eugene Congregation, Childcare is provided, open to people of all ages and backgrounds

WHAT IS VIGIL?
VIGIL typically means to keep watch or to pray. The monthly parish
VIGIL nights are an opportunity for us to come together as a parish
outside of the mass and worship and be in community.

WHY SHOULD I GO TO VIGIL?
VIGIL is a night designed to create an authentic personal Encounter with
the love of God. Pope Francis says, “I invite all Christians, everywhere, at
this very moment, to a renewed personal encounter with Jesus Christ.”
Notice he doesn’t say I invite just the baptized, or just those who haven’t
encountered Jesus personally before, but ALL. You should come because
this is your chance for that renewed encounter.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT TO HAPPEN?
The night will begin with a brief welcome from our MC, and then we will
hear a 25 minute formation talk on how we encounter God’s love. We
will then have 1 hour of adoration, reconciliation, prayerful religious
music and at the end of the night, a time for fellowship.

WHO SHOULD GO TO VIGIL?
VIGIL is meant for absolutely everyone. It doesn’t matter if you are a
parishioner, non-parishioner, old or young, Catholic or non-Catholic, or
anything in between! These nights are meant to be accessible and
powerful for anyone of all ages, backgrounds, and faith lives.

WILL THIS HAPPEN MORE THAN ONCE?
Beginning in January, VIGIL will take place every 2nd Tuesday of the
month from 6:30 to 8pm and will always be at St. Eugene. This is a great
chance for our parishes to come together once a month outside of mass
and pray and grow together. Mark it on the calendar and start inviting
your friends and neighbors!
