Volunteers Needed

Visitors to the annual St. Monica Society Antique Show always comment on the friendly atmosphere and the helpful volunteers. The show relies on a wonderful network of parish volunteers, each doing a small task or donating a few hours of time. Helpers can make chili, collect admissions, help set up, clean up, make donuts, and work in the kitchen etc. etc. etc. Work in advance or during the show. Please check out the volunteer opportunities below and sign up EARLY to help the volunteer chairs with their planning.

Volunteer Opportunities

Kitchen volunteers needed

The kitchen crew that keeps the visitors, volunteers and dealers fueled during the Antique Show is looking for volunteers to work two-hour shifts helping prepare and serve food starting at 9 a.m. Saturday or Sunday. Sunday afternoon volunteers particularly needed. Volunteers are also needed for setup Friday morning between 9 and noon. Contact Mary Klovers at 964-7729.
Bakers Needed

We’ll be accepting bakery contributions in Donovan Hall on Friday, Feb. 12, Saturday, Feb. 13 or Sunday, Feb. 14. We also need bakery workers for a short, fun two or two-and-a-half hour shift. If you have questions or need a copy of the bakery donation form (which lists shifts), contact Diane Deverey,diane.deverey@wwt.com or Emelie Linke, 962-5007.

Chili Makers

Work-at-home volunteers needed to help make the famous St. Monica’s chili. Bucket, spices and recipe provided. You provide remaining ingredients. If you have extra gallon ice cream buckets to donate, they would be appreciated. Contact Peggy Porter at 294-8067, pporter@st-monica.org.

Yard Sign Distribution

> If anyone is willing to put out an Antique Show yard sign or has a yard sign from last year at home, please call Adele Eklund at 228-7675 or Ali Faber at 351-4774. Leave your name, address and phone number, and we will contact you with specifics. The Antique Show yard signs will be available for pick- up after each Mass the weekend of January 30-31.

Calling All Quilts

The quilt committee is planning an exhibition of quilts from previous antique shows. If you were the lucky winner of a quilt or know someone who has one, please contact us about lending the quilt for this 45th anniversary celebration.
