2010 Antique Show Quilt

“Pinwheel Stars” Quilts

Two identical twin-sized quilts have been created for the 2010 Antique Show Raffle. The pattern for these quilts, “Pinwheel Stars” was adapted from the Encyclopedia of Classic Quilt Patterns published by Leisure Arts in 2001. The center field is set with 20 brightly colored squares consisting of eight-pointed stars presented with a diagonal transition of colors. Each star has a coordinating pinwheel fashioned in its center. As the colors flow from light to dark, the eye is awash with bright and whimsical fabrics moving from white, across the rainbow, to black. The randomly set patchwork borders provide a vivid boundary for the 69” x 88” quilts. Each of these quilts was constructed and hand quilted by parishioners at St. Monica over the course of the past 9 months. Perfect for a guest room or child’s bedroom, these quilts are instant heirlooms in any home. Two handmade coordinating pillowcases are included to complete the ensemble. Much love has been incorporated into these quilts and the 2010 Antique Show raffle winner will be truly blessed to own such unique pieces of Americana.
