Priests

Pastor: The Reverend Jerome G. Herda

Our pastor, Fr. Jerry Herda grew up in Muskego, Wisconsin. He is one of five children and his two brothers and two sisters still live in the Milwaukee area. He attended Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee and then entered St. Francis Seminary. He was ordained on May 18, 1990.

Fr. Jerry served from 1990 to 1995 at St. Alphonsus, Greendale. In the Fall of 1995 he became the Pastoral Minister of Divine Savior Holy Angels High School. In 2001 while remaining at DSHA, he also served one year at St. Adalbert, South Milwaukee. From 2002 to 2007 he served as the Secretary to Archbishop Timothy Dolan before he was assigned as Pastor of St. Monica Parish. He currently serves as Pastor of both St. Monica and St. Eugene Parishes. 

Associate Pastor:  Fr Paul Fliss

Fr. Paul Fliss was ordained to the priesthood for the Archdiocese of Milwaukee in 1992. His previous ministry experiences have been varied, including parish ministry, and as Director of Asian Ministry for the Archdiocese of Milwaukee, and he has worked locally, nationally, and internationally for/with the Hmong Catholic community. He has been Associate Pastor of St. Monica and St Eugene Parishes since June of 2008. Special areas of his parish ministry include Prayer and Worship, Human Concerns, Twinning Relationship ministry, and RCIA. He also teaches weekly in both Schools. Fr. Paul continues to be priest-minister to the Hmong Catholic community in the Archdiocese. In addition to his parish ministry, he is a doctoral student in Intercultural Ministry at Catholic Theological Union, Chicago, specializing in Hmong Catholic Ministry.
Fr. Paul has 2 sisters and 2 brothers who live in the Milwaukee area with their families, and one brother lives with his family in Northern Virginia. In his free-time, Fr. Paul likes to travel, see movies, and gather with family and friends. He also likes to exercise, and has taken hiking and camping vacations in the Rocky Mountains and Canada. In the summer of 2011, during the week of his 50th birthday, Fr. Paul completed his first 5K race.
